Where in China is our baby?

She is in Xiushan Chongqing. The first map is a map of China, with Chonqing in red. The second map is Chongqing in green. Her town is in the lower right corner and is labeled "Zhonghe". The third map is from another parent, and shows the route the babies will travel to meet us in the city of Chongqing.

I hear it is a 5-12 hour drive from Chongqing to Xiushan, so I don't think we will be visiting this trip. I look forward to traveling around the region in a few years with my girls!

Forbidden City

The Forbidden City is a must - we were quite rushed last time and there is a lot to see. I am particularly interested in the furnished living quarters. It is within walking distance of the hotel, so I have selected this as the thing to see the first day, so those who are exhausted can head back any time.

Ming vs. Qing

It looks like the Qing tombs are much older, but there is not as much to see. The photo here is the approach to the Ming tombs, which have my vote if we have to choose.

Travel notes

The first place on our list to visit is the Great Wall. This portion, MuTianYu looks the most beautiful of those easily accessed from Beijing.

The last few days have been wonderful. The bad taste of the wait is melting away, and things look beautiful again, songs sound so wonderful. It is technicolor again. Here are a few more photos.

Announcing the long-awaited BABY SISTER - Ellen FuWei!

It is with pride and awe that I announce we have a new baby sister in our family. We are over the moon with happiness and excitement!

Our baby was born in August 2006 in Xiushan, Chongqing. She is chubby, happy and likes to laugh.

It seemed like this day would never come, and it is evey bit as good as I had hoped.

More later, as we are out of town at the moment.
